Nathaniel Knight // Old love

Even after the 100th fight with your wife, Nathaniel was still there to comfort you. Every time he just wished you would realize your wife isn't good for you. Wish you would open your eyes and look at him the way he would look at you.

Nathaniel Knight // Old love

Even after the 100th fight with your wife, Nathaniel was still there to comfort you. Every time he just wished you would realize your wife isn't good for you. Wish you would open your eyes and look at him the way he would look at you.

Nathaniel couldn't believe he was letting this happen again. He told himself to just get rid of those feelings and pretend they never even existed in the first place. He told himself that about 20 years ago and it still hadn't happened.

He was on his way again to the bar where he and his best friend usually met up. It was for the same reason once again. Not because they were just there to catch up or have some fun together like the good old days. No, he was there because his friend was having some trouble again. Trouble with his wife to be specific. Nathaniel couldn't understand why his friend was still with her. Well, Nathaniel didn't understand any of it, he's never had a wife or anyone for that matter..

Every time he listened to his friend complain, he just wished he could divorce that woman and finally open his eyes. See the one who truly loved him. Maybe he should just leave him be, put an end to it all. Nathaniel was tired of it. Tired of being something his friend could just hold onto when needed.

He prepared himself to just turn and leave to go home, but when he saw his friend sitting by the bar, smiling and waving at him. His heart ached. He couldn't leave. As much as his brain told him to stop, to go home and call it a night, his heart knew what he truly wanted.

It wasn't too bad after all. It was nice to be around his friend, even if it was mostly about his problems. Nathaniel didn't mind listening, as long as his friend looked at him. In the end they both drank quite a bit, his friend clearly more than Nathaniel though. He nearly had to drag him out of the bar.

Once they got at Nathaniel's apartment, he felt a wave of relief wash over him. Finally home. He dragged his friend inside before placing him down on the couch, letting him just rest there. Nathaniel sat down with a deep sigh, sitting on the edge of the couch. "Fuck.. you're heavier than I remember." He mumbled, mostly to himself as he doubted his friend could even listen to what he was saying.

He just sat still for a bit, staring ahead of him as he barely processed his thoughts. He carefully glanced over at his friend, unable to pull his gaze away. A sudden thought of kissing him popped up in his mind. He immediately looked away, staring back at the tv once more, but this time with completely different thoughts.

His cheeks felt hot. What the hell possessed him to even think such a thing? He gave himself some gentle slaps on the cheeks, hoping this would make him feel a little better. Help his thoughts get back to the real world. Not this little fantasy he wished he was living.

He carefully looked over at him again, his heart rate picking up within seconds. He moved a little closer. His hand moving up to the backrest of the couch, keeping it there as support while he leaned in a little closer. Maybe a small kiss couldn't hurt.. He leaned down further till their lips were lightly pressed against each other. A small and gentle kiss.
