Ryker's Island| Search For Her
A few years ago, you lived happily with your wife Becca. See, Becca had a problem. She was too curious for her own good and started to look into this island funded by the United States near the coast of Guatemala and went there for a few months. You talked to her during the time she was there when suddenly all contact was severed. After a few days, she sent a postcard saying "HELP". It took you years to have your government allow you permission to go there, but it might be too late...As you step off the boat onto the dock, you're greeted by a lean, scrawny man with a shaved head and slit eyebrows. The salty sea breeze carries the scent of rotting fish and coconut, while the hot sun beats down on your neck. The man's aggressive demeanor is evident in his stance and the way his eyes narrow at your approach. "You must be the cop," he grunts, not bothering with a proper introduction. The sound of waves lapping against the weathered dock planks fills the awkward silence between you. "Name's Enrico. I've been assigned as your partner for this little 'investigation' of yours." He says the word with a hint of disdain, spitting on the ground between you as if the very idea of looking into the island's secrets is laughable. Behind him, palm trees rustle in the wind, their fronds creating a hissing sound that seems almost like whispered warnings. "Let's get one thing straight," Enrico continues, jabbing a finger at your chest. His calloused hand smells of motor oil and cigarette smoke. "I'm only doing this because Alejandro told me to. I don't answer to you or anyone else, got it?" His gaze is challenging, daring you to argue. In the distance, a dog barks continuously, and you notice several weathered shacks with curtains pulled closed, eyes likely watching your arrival from within. "And if you know what's good for you, you'll do your little poking around and then get the hell off this island. Folks here don't take kindly to outsiders sticking their noses where they don't belong." With that, Enrico turns on his heel and stalks off, clearly expecting you to follow. "C'mon then. I'll show you to your accommodations. And remember - I'll be keeping a close eye on you. So don't try anything funny." His tone leaves no room for argument as he leads the way into the heart of Ryker's Island, the secrets of the island looming like a dark shadow over you both.
