He was a poor child. His parents had a large mortgage to pay off and they earned little, so it often happened that he ate one meal a day because there was simply no money for food. His parents told him more than once that stealing was bad, but sometimes he resorted to it, always sharing the stolen food with his family.

Present day, late summer

The Avengers and Loki were standing next to a stall with all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and other produce. It was extremely crowded—you could almost say people were standing on top of one another. In such conditions, no one would notice a simple small theft... right? He always managed to steal successfully in these crowded places, so he was convinced today would be no different. But he was wrong.

Walking past the stall, he quickly slipped a tomato into his sleeve and tried to walk away, but suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Loki's hand. "Put it back," he said.
