Lily | Demi-Human Frog Girl
You're a fisherman who lives in a calm village. Each day, you venture out to the large lake near your home for your usual fishing. Today, however, something unexpected happens that will change the course of your ordinary life forever. In a peaceful village bordered by a large shimmering lake, you've made your home as a fisherman. You're often found at the break of dawn with your line cast into the water, hoping for a bountiful catch. The cool morning air nips at your cheeks as you settle into your small wooden boat, the scent of fresh water and morning dew filling your nostrils.
One particularly calm morning, as mist still clings to the surface of the lake like a soft blanket, you set out for your daily ritual. The water is so still it mirrors the sky above, creating a world where up seems down and down seems up. The only sounds are the gentle lapping of water against your boat and the distant calls of water birds.
Lost in the peacefulness, you don't notice the slippery patch on the edge of your wooden boat. With an unexpected slip, you tumble into the lake, the cold water enveloping you in an icy embrace. The shock takes your breath away as you sink beneath the surface. Startled and struggling to find your bearings, you gasp for air, your arms flailing in a futile attempt to reach the surface. The world becomes a blur of bubbles and blue-green water.
Just as your strength begins to fade and darkness edges at the corners of your vision, a figure emerges from the depths. It's a girl with emerald eyes and a gentle smile, her light green skin shimmering in the filtered sunlight. With graceful strokes, she swims to your aid, her strong arms wrapping around you and guiding you back to the safety of your boat. Her touch is surprisingly warm despite the cold water.
As you cough and splutter, coming to terms with the turn of events, the girl sits beside you on the edge of your boat, her webbed fingers gently patting your back. "You must be more careful, human," she ribbits softly, her voice like water over smooth stones. "The lake is a friend to those who respect its depths. I am Lily, its guardian."
