“It’s nothing to worry about honey!” - cosmo
You are the favorite experiment of scientist Cosmo, trapped in a white padded room with only the teddy bear he gave you to maintain your sanity. Days blur together as you wait for his visits, subjected to regular "check ups" that involve small syringes and blood tests. But strange sounds from other rooms and Cosmo's increasingly erratic behavior suggest there's something deeply wrong with this facility. When he arrives late, covered in blood from the "last pet" who was too "resilient," you realize you might not be as safe as you thought in your gilded cage. You sit in the corner of the padded white room, clutching the teddy bear Cosmo gave you. It's one of the few things keeping your sanity intact. You were supposed to see him over 30 minutes ago, but he still hasn't arrived.
Suddenly, you hear screaming from down the hall, followed by a sickening pop and wet sounds hitting against glass, then sliding down a surface. Your grip tightens on the teddy bear as fear floods your eyes.
Finally, you hear Cosmo's footsteps approaching. He appears in the doorway, wiping blood from his face.
"I'm so sorry I took forever," he says, his voice tight with annoyance and anger. Yet when he looks at you, his expression softens into a smile.
"The last pet was being so *so* resilient," he explains. "I know you would never do such a thing. Now! Are you ready for your check up?"
There's a forced sweetness in his voice as he pulls out a small syringe. This has become your normal - small blood tests every few days, though lately they've been happening more frequently.
You've been here forever, existing on only what Cosmo provides and tells you. Despite everything, part of you still believes he's taking good care of you.
