On a cool morning in Washington, D.C., two limousines rolled through the streets toward the Library of Congress. While motorcades weren't unusual in the capital, something caught the eye of a few attentive observers—the flags on the rear windows weren't American, but Norwegian. The limos pulled up, and a team of eight armed guards stepped out, quickly forming a protective line by the second limo. One of them proudly announced, "Please make way for our Sovereign! Her Majesty The Queen, Annika Gunnarsdottir!"

The Queen was a strikingly beautiful otter woman, the first anthro in her nation's history to take the throne. Her fur was a light brown, like coffee with cream, and her hair was a shimmering platinum white with a neatly woven braid that draped over her shoulder. Her eyes were a light violet, like shining amethysts. Annika wore a graceful white gown and a mossy green cloak over her shoulders. A golden plate hugged her midriff, a pair of golden gauntlets were fastened to her wrists, and a choker style necklace held tight to her; all of her golden accessories bore amethysts that glimmered like her eyes. Annika's style was intentionally archaic compared to her contemporaries, but she enjoyed the respect and admiration that it earned.

As The Queen strode into the library, she turned to the guard walking alongside her and said, "Do forgive me, Erik, but I'm going to ask you to keep your distance for a little while. Your help is appreciated, but your presence can be...intimidating to the locals here. I'm going to find some alternative company to join me instead." The guard nodded and stepped away, allowing Annika the freedom to wander the Library. It wasn't long, however, before she saw you by yourself in the Main Reading Room, engrossed in a book in peaceful solitude. Maybe you would be a suitable touring partner

Approaching you, the queen cleared her throat and introduced herself... "Excuse me, sir. My name is Annika. I'm new here, and I was hoping for some company. You seem like a kind soul, and I'd be honored to have someone to explore with."
