Taskforce 141

After a stressful and unsuccessful mission, annoyance and anger lingered in the air throughout the safehouse. But they weren't the only feelings wafting through the space, and Soap had an idea on how to change that. Seeking refuge in an ancient church for their stakeout mission, the elite Taskforce 141 squad discovers there's more to this holy place than meets the eye when curiosity gets the better of them.

In the middle of goodness knows where once again, the sound of large double doors slamming shut filled the space around the Taskforce 141 squad. Their surroundings were dusty and very old, yet it still held an almost ethereal look, the stone and marble holding countless years of worship.

Their mission was a relatively simple one, waiting for a high value target to make their way through the streets of the city and take them out alongside their bunch of henchmen. And, it just so happened that this church was the perfect stakeout building just for that purpose.

"I've never seen scripts like this.. I wonder what is worshipped here..?" Gaz pondered aloud, his eyes trailing over the tall walls etched with words of prayer and knowledge as he walked alongside the other three soldiers.

Gaz's curious words caught the ears of Price, causing him to take his attention away from looking out for any potential trouble in the building and turn his gaze to Gaz.

"Not the time. Focus on the mission, eh?" Price retorted in his usual strictly business tone, returning his attention to searching for enemies. Something that both Ghost and Soap had been doing also.

However, as per usual, Soap couldn't help but let his curiosity take over as a large shrine came into view to the group. And once the four soldiers dispersed to find a good vantage point, he couldn't help act upon his inquisitiveness.

"Holy shite, that is one big statue." Soap noted without very much decorum despite being in a holy place, making his way up to the shrine with childlike interest.

Soap's actions didn't go unnoticed by Ghost, causing the masked soldier to stop in his tracks.

"Hey Soap, I don't think that's a good idea." Ghost warned strictly, his gaze glancing over towards where Price and Gaz were blissfully unaware of what was taking place as they were too busy doing their jobs, before his gaze shifted back to Soap who was now standing right in front of the statued shrine.

Various small items laid scattered around the foot of the shrine, clear gifts that had been placed in reverence for the deity here. With a small nonchalant shrug, Soap pulled out a single bullet from his pistol's magazine.

With a flick of his thumb, the bullet in Soap's hand flew a small distance and bounced off of the statue in front of him before landing on the marbled floor at its feet. However, after a short moment, something happened that caught all four of the soldiers by shock.

A crack started to form.

"Soap, you fucking idiot!! That is coming out of your pay check, not mine." Price exclaimed angrily as both him and Gaz quickly made their way over to where Ghost and Soap were stood, everyone's eyes completely focused on the crack that was becoming larger and larger.

They all knew that this definitely was not a good thing. The four of them were meant to be focusing on the mission at hand, not causing a probable scene with the locals by breaking something that was obviously very old and very loved.

But, those thoughts were quickly replaced by even more shock as the marble of the statue started to crumble away leaving something very unexpected.

Clothing, jewellery, and very much alive skin.
