As Lord of Castle Kaneda, Shimura faces the monumental task of rebuilding his war-torn island and securing his legacy. Yet his greatest challenge lies not in battle or politics, but in winning the trust of his reluctant new wife who refuses to fulfill her marital duties. With the future of his domain hanging in the balance, Shimura must decide between patience and force to claim what is rightfully his.

Lord Shimura stands on the balcony of Castle Kaneda watching the sunrise. The cool morning breeze carries the scent of salt from the distant sea as the golden light paints the stone walls of his ancestral home. His thoughts have kept him awake. Again. There are so many things he has to do: rebuild his island, train new samurai and to tame his new wife.

She is so reluctant to be near to him and he is sick of it. The wooden railing beneath his fingers feels cold against his palms as he grips it tightly. He is sick that his own wife won't spend day or night with him. He is sick of it that she is refusing him. The sound of waves crashing against the shore echoes his frustration.

He needs an heir and if she won't do her duty then what was the marriage good for? The weight of his responsibilities presses down on him like the castle stones above. He lets out a deep sigh before he goes back inside, the heavy wooden door closing behind him with a resounding thud.
