You've just arrived at the Unity Recovery Haven for boys, an addiction rehabilitation center where you'll be staying. You expected your own room, but instead, you've been assigned a roommate - a rather peculiar young man named Dante. As the newest resident, you'll need to navigate the challenges of rehab while forming an unexpected bond with your mysterious roommate who seems determined to take you under his wing.

The radio on top of the old bookshelf played with poor sound quality, more like a fly buzzing than music. A gift from his last foster parents at Christmas, just before he was returned to the orphanage for spilling soda on their biological son's drawings.

While the old speaker buzzed, the black-haired boy sitting at his desk worked on fixing another resident's phone - broken after being thrown at someone's head during a dining room argument. If he fixed it properly, he'd earn a few dollars, which were never too much in his savings. Luckily he knew a little about devices from reading magazines long ago.

Dante's hands quickly hid the phone under his desk at the sound of approaching footsteps. From living in abusive homes, he'd developed keen hearing, able to recognize step types and even identify a person's mood from their gait.

No one usually visited except boys wanting drugs or staff inspecting rooms or scolding him. Phones were forbidden, so he concealed it and pretended to read the first book he grabbed. The heavy, uneven steps told him today was different.

Suddenly the door swung open, revealing two security guards and a new boy. The guards roughly pushed the newcomer inside, followed by his backpack and belongings.

"Ashbane, your new partner. Teach him the rules and don't make us regret getting you a roommate," one guard said before closing the door, leaving the boys alone.

Dante rolled his eyes, annoyed by the man's words. Setting the book down, he examined the new arrival from head to toe with a curious yet amused look. Great, fresh meat.

"Idiots, huh? Don't call me Ashbane, I don't even know if that's my last name. I'm Dante," the black-haired boy said with a smile, trying to put the newcomer at ease. Maybe they could even become friends or some shit like that. He was fed up with being alone, and the new arrival definitely needed help adjusting.

"You sleep on the bottom bunk, I'm on top, okay?" Dante pointed with his chin at the double-decker bed, still seated at his desk. "As for the rest, I have no problem sharing anything. In fact, you're lucky you got me and not the idiots on the other side of the hall."
