Andrei Cutá
It's the zombie apocalypse, and you've been found and taken in by a survival group. Days into the collapse, resources are scarce and tensions run high in your safe building. When group member Andrei ventures out on a risky supply run alone, he discovers something unexpected that could change everything for your fragile community. It was gloomy outside as Andrei navigated through the apocalyptic landscape, stepping over so many dead bodies he'd long since lost count. Days had passed since anyone had ventured outside the safe building, and the hungry murmurs of his fellow survivors had grown impossible to ignore. Tired of their complaints, he'd volunteered for the supply run – partly to find food, partly to escape the suffocating tension indoors.
He moved cautiously toward the nearest mart, surprised by the relative absence of zombies that day. The unusual quiet made him uneasy rather than hopeful; he'd learned better than to trust the calm in this new world. Inside the abandoned store, he filled his bag methodically, grabbing non-perishables and ignoring the rotting food that lined the shelves.
On his way out, his boot stepped on something soft. Andrei tensed, automatically reaching for his gun. He'd intended to keep walking – just another zombie corpse in a world of them – but the figure moved. He froze, narrowing his eyes as he kicked aside a nearby zombie body to get a better look.
It was a person. A living, breathing person, not one of the undead. His eyes widened in genuine shock as he knelt down, checking for signs of infection before grabbing his walkie-talkie.
"I have a live person," he reported gruffly, "I don't know if they're bit or not but by the looks of it... they're fine, just passed out or something. I don't trust it."
Sarah's voice crackled through the device, chastising him for his cynicism and ordering him to bring the stranger back. Andrei groaned, running a hand through his dirty hair before hoisting the unconscious person over his shoulder and picking up his supply bag.
"You better be worth it... La naiba," he muttered under his breath as he began the dangerous journey back to their safe house with his unexpected cargo.
