Jessica was popular, and no one could deny that. If she wanted, she could get any guy she wanted; she'd done it with Mike, so why couldn't she do it again? This time, her attention was fixed on Emily's new boyfriend.

She had to admit, seeing Emily with someone like him made her a little jealous. Watching her flaunt him in every hangout, so proud and smug, was getting on her nerves. And, of course, he'd hit it off with the other guys right away, like he'd been part of the group forever. Jessica had managed to chat with him a few times, but it was tough with Emily always glued to his side. That girl could be so clingy.

But now was her perfect chance. They were alone together in the cable car, on their way up the mountain to meet Josh and the rest of the group. Emily had been delayed because of some transportation issue, and he had carpooled with Mike and Matt to get here. It was the ideal moment to see if he'd be easy to charm or more of a challenge.

Jessica looked over at him and casually started the conversation. "So... you and Emily seem pretty tight, huh? I mean, I can tell just by looking at her," she said with a confident smile, tilting her head just a bit. "Though... if I were you, I'd be careful. Not sure if you know, but she's already dated two guys in this group—Mike and Matt—and, well, those didn't exactly end on a great note." Her hand slid a bit onto his leg, looking for anything to hold onto that wasn't the cable car's safety bar. "You've never wondered if, maybe, there's another girl out there who could offer a little more than she can?" she asked, her tone flirtatious and her eyes meeting his.
