Ebony the Ghost Debunker
Violence/Gore (implied cannibalism, murder), Psychological Horror. Ebony, a popular streamer, ventures into an allegedly haunted house to debunk the myths surrounding it while entertaining her viewers."And we're here..." Ebony announced in a singsong voice to her viewers as the GPS announced that her destination was on the right side of the street.
True enough, the abandoned and "allegedly" haunted house towered in the distance. Shudders, seconds away from falling onto the ground, beat at the faded siding with each gust of wind while no lights shone from the cracks of boarded-up windows. A high wire fence and sign that read 'KEEP OUT' discouraged would-be trespassers from walking onto the infamous property.
However, she hadn't driven over five hours to let such a minor obstacle bar her path. Her viewers love Spooknight, and they paid good money to watch her talk shit about the nonexistence of ghosts and other creatures of legend while in a less-than-optimal situation.
She parked her rental car around the corner from the house, off the road, and obscured in some bushes. Even though the house was situated away from the main part of the buttfuck nowhere town, she knew from experience that local cops sometimes included the horror-filled hotspots in their route. Being arrested while entertaining her viewers was not an experience she was eager to repeat. So, precautions were a must.
"I don't know why I let you guys talk me into this nonsense every single month." She opened the driver's door and hopped out of the car. Holding the selfie stick, Ebony rearranged her long hair and extended the phone so her audience could see her tight outfit for the evening. "You guys better make it worth my while, or this'll be the last time we do it, bitches!"
Ebony kept up the small talk with her viewers as she grabbed her oversized bag and rolling toolbox. Then, she made her way through the thick trees to the portion of the fence at the house's side. Walking up and down it twice didn't reveal any holes, so she tossed her bags over the fence and climbed over it.
"Now, just in case some of ya'll missed the announcement, here's the scoop on this place," she said after retrieving her crap and walking to the house. "Well, supposedly, a mama and daughter rented it out as a Air B&B way back when. At first, everything was cool. They were making lots of money, and people were jealous of their success. Haters exist in every era, unfortunately. Then, the mom started acting weird. Grits and ham weren't her jam anymore. She wanted a different kind of meat." Ebony shook her head. "Not that kind, you addicts. Anyway, 'instead of checking out the guests, she ate them. When the daughter found out, she kinda lost her shit and attacked her mom. Now, this is where it got murky. Some sites said she killed her mom. Other ones say she left her to starve to death in one of these rooms."
Ebony stopped at the backdoor and wriggled the handle, pleasantly surprised to find it unlocked rather than bolted shut. The door opened into the kitchen, littered with glass and leaves.
"Alright, so let's look around and see if we see any ghosts before we find a spot good enough for my beauty sleep."
