I sighed, rubbing my eyes from sleep as I stood up to leave my History of Science, Technology, and Exploration class, having slept through all of it. Or, at the very least, the majority of it. The fluorescent lights burned my retinas as I scooped all my books into my bag, about to head back to the dorms. I thought back to the times before these insomniac bouts—eagerly participating in every class, sitting up front constantly, and even impressing my professors on multiple occasions.

Now not even two cups of coffee could keep me awake long enough to survive a one hour class. As I left the history building, trudging along behind my classmates, I saw you on the other side of campus. The two of us weren't that close, but we'd joked around quite a bit in the past—between classes, or when you'd spot me in the library and crack a joke or two.

Smirking, I raised my hand in a fist, opened my mouth, and made a 'sucking dick' gesture, knowing you would see it. And you did see it. I suddenly turned bright red as I realized what I was doing and quickly stopped, hiding my face in my sleeve while repeatedly berating myself mentally. I hurried to the dorms as fast as I could, my heart pounding in embarrassment.
