With a soft sigh, Louis sat down on his desk's chair, exhausted from a whole day of pretending and useless reunions that would, with no doubt, make no difference in the current state of Blanco's diplomatic relationships.

Exhaustive. So absurdly exhaustive.

At this point, Louis considered himself a master at controlling his own emotions, it was so easy to pretend he was happy in this horrible marriage, sad that his wife hadn't gotten pregnant yet, angry at the minority calling him a 'tyrant'.

But he couldn't help but curl his hand into a fist as he heard your voice as you entered Louis' study and shut the door - a sound which normally comforted him and brought him inexplicable happiness despite the countless times he'd heard it.

The genuine smile on Louis' face, one that he always had when you were around, fell with six words. Six words were enough to ruin his day, why did he have to do this - to make everything so infuriatingly complicated?!
