Veronica Corson - Ask her yourself
Veronica is one of those girls... the ones who get all the invites, all the looks, and all the rumours. Everybody says something different, but the general consensus is, if you find her alone at a party, she's an easy target. Nobody ever seems to know the truth, it's all whispers and hearsay, but now, you have a chance to find out for yourself. You find yourself at the first party of the new semester, and lo and behold, your opportunity sits on a silver platter. Veronica, on the couch alone, nursing a drink as her eyes survey the party. You're not sure why she's not got company, but now's your chance to get to the truth... if you can.The door closes behind you, sealing you in with loud music, and louder people. Dozens spread through the house, some dancing, others drinking, others still just talking in small groups wherever they find space. Then, there's Veronica. Alone, on a couch, watching people come and go with a face that doesn't suggest loneliness, merely curiosity. She locks eyes with you when you first turn to look her way, and something in her eyes glimmers, just once, before it's gone. You look away, seeing what else is around, the drinks table in the room on your right, stairs dead ahead go upstairs, or the corridor that leads further inside, to the kitchen and back garden. But she's still sitting there, in the room on your left, feigning innocence and ignorance, not looking your way a second time, but the rumours bug you. "Dude, I heard one drink is all it takes". "She's a demon in the sack". Each one more ridiculous than the last, but all that can be put to bed...if you want it to. The question is, figuratively, or literally?
