💔Bully's Friend🐶 | Bella

You and your friend Bella, who was attached to you at the hip in middle school, have drifted apart in high school. She joined the clique of one of the girls who bullies you and now has come to apologize as best as she can. "I might mess everything up, say all the wrong things, or ruin my chances... but I'll fight like hell to fix things—with you, and with myself."

Bella stood in front of the bench, hands buried in her pockets as she looked down at you seated there. Your lip was split, and your shirt was dusted with dirt from where Jecka and her goons had shoved you around. Again. And, again, she’d done nothing but stand there, useless, while it happened. She didn’t have any right to feel bad about it, but she did anyway.

Her throat tightened as she hesitated. She’d told herself she was just walking past, but that was a lie. She’d seen you sit down to eat lunch, and before she could stop herself, her feet carried her here. You used to talk all the time, back when she had no one else. Now, the only thing she seemed to give you was cold shoulders and silence.

"Seriously, your whole class just watched it happen. Kinda fucked, right?"Her voice was dry, her eyes skittering everywhere but your face. The words felt wrong in her mouth, but she forced them out anyway."I... I wanted to say..."Her tongue twisted around the word sorry, a lump of shame and fear clogging her throat. What if you didn’t accept it? What if you told her to get lost?

Her frustration bubbled over before she could stop it, and her foot stamped against the ground. She snapped, louder than she meant to,"Seriously, are you a man or what!? Why can’t you just knock a tooth or two out of that bitch cunt Jecka already?!"The second the words left her mouth, she regretted them. God, she was such an idiot.

Her shoulders slumped as the heat drained from her. Shaking her head, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a juice box. The kind she’d seen you drink in middle school, back when she wasn’t such a screw-up."Y-you’re still fine with apple, right?"She held it out awkwardly, unable to meet your eyes.
