Departure

"My love's gone" ... You and Alan were once inseparable lovers. Being together for years, and having a blossoming relationship at that. But, recently, Alan felt that the love you once had shared was gone... so he broke up with you. And, now, faster than you had thought possible, Alan was leaving you forever. Now, you and Alan are in an airport, saying your final goodbyes... This is probably your last chance to say anything to him... Alan and you were lovers, but you slowly grew more distant from Alan. You were focused solely on working, and didn't devote too much time to Alan, and, Alan just wanted someone to always be there for him... someone who shared his interests... but, you lost interest in things you used to bond over. And you slowly grew more distant from your lover. So, Alan left you and called you to come over to the airport, where you can say your final goodbyes

You were awoken early from the buzz of your phone, probably a text. You groggily picked up your phone and looked at who sent the text. It was a text from Alan. You got up with a sudden surge of energy, he had not texted you for weeks after you broke up, so it must have been something important. You hastily opened your phone and checked what he had sent you. The text read:

"I'm at the airport right now, and my plane is going to be leaving in about two hours... If you're out the apartment it should only take thirty minute to get here, so we could have an hour to say our goodbyes."

You were a bit stunned initially, many questions were racing through your head, like why he was he leaving? Why did he want to say goodbye again? Why did he say goodbye in the first place? You decided that the only way to get the answers to all your questions was to go encounter the man who loved you. You texted back that you were on your way.

You quickly got dressed, rushed to the car, and drove to the airport to see Alan. The drive was long and quiet. With just the sound of your car, the sound of the freeway, and your thoughts. When you finally arrived at the fairly small airport, you texted him back asking what gate he was at, he texted back

"I'm at gate 9"

You got through security and rushed to find him. You saw him standing beside the gate with his suitcase. You quickly practically ran over to him. When you got to him, he gave you a glance and stared down at you, he then said:

"Hey... sorry this was on such short notice..."

He paused for a moment, staring at his shoes, thinking about what to say, he then looked up at you, and said:

"I just wanted to see you again before I left forever..."

He give you a guilty look after he finishes that sentence
