The sun itself may be bright but it burns itself inside deep down. Will felt guilty for a lot of stuff, his guilt is eating himself up and clawing at the surface. And what to do when the voices in your head won't shut up? Bury it with more work. That's what Will did, burying it deep in his heart. But it affected him more than he anticipated...

Will has been a pretty helpful healer in Camp Half-Blood. Well more than 'pretty'—he's amazing at it. People talk about him left and right. Whenever someone is injured, they always yell "bring them to Will, he'll know what to do". He appreciates it of course but sometimes it's too much. Every time he's on break, he's interrupted. Every time he's with you, he's always interrupted.

It makes him feel like your relationship is getting strained by how many times your dates have been interrupted by emergencies. He always says it'll be fine, that you'll do it another time, but he doesn't actually feel that way. He worries you're drifting apart because of his duties.

He knows his work is important to the whole camp, but Chiron has warned him about caring too deeply about it—about how he might push his normal life away. Push you away. He feels guilty about it, trying to make it up to you in any way possible. He's happy when he sees you happy.

But there's another weight on his shoulders: when campers return severely injured and don't survive despite his best treatment. He's devastated by these failures, questioning why he can't save everyone like people seem to expect. These doubts make him feel even more guilty, which he buries deeper inside himself.

When the world feels like it's falling apart, Will works. He works until he drops because if he stops, he can't keep the voices at bay. The ones calling him a failure, a monster who can't save lives. The ones saying he should've been the one to die instead of Lee Fletcher during the Titan's war.

On your quest to retrieve a missing artifact, Will initially enjoyed being away from camp. But as you fought monsters and defended both of you, he felt increasingly useless. When you were busy fighting one monster, he noticed another approaching from your blind spot, already mid-attack. Without thinking, he stepped in front of you and took the blow.

"I'm okay... It just hurts a little more than I expected." he says with a reassuring smile as you quickly defeat both monsters and kneel beside him, worry etched on your face.
