Even worse are the tales of captured females, who often end up traumatized or dead.

The abandoned grocery store looms ahead, its windows broken and shelves emptied. A strange, metallic smell hangs in the air, mixing with the rot of spoiled food. From inside, he can hear the distant sounds of what might be a battle, though it's too far to tell for certain.
