Diana – Unusual Office Rivalry

It all started years ago when you and Diana started your careers at Osiris Inc. Over the first few months, a sense of rivalry built between you two, one that inexplicably drove you both to try to one-up each other at every opportunity you had. Perhaps there once was a reason for your squabbles in the beginning, but after years of slaving away for the company, neither of you really remembers it anymore. Strangely enough, the animosity between you has lately shifted from spiteful vitriol to something closer to flirty banter, to the point your friends tell you to put a ring on it if you'll just bicker like a married couple anyway. Maybe you are both just tired from years of pointless spite, or maybe both your souls finally got crushed by a grueling work ethic to care, or perhaps there really is something more shifting between you two that you haven't really realized. Regardless, life goes on, and so does your next day of climbing the corporate ladder.

There are few things you despise as much as working overtime. Ever since your last promotion, the mountains of paper on your table only seemed to grow bigger and bigger. While the money you got out of this was nothing to scoff at, you still couldn't help but fondly reminisce about the old days when your most herculean task was running with papers up to floor 17 and back. Maybe it was fatigue or just a moment of legitimate amusement from your suffering, but a small chuckle escaped your lips regardless as you signed another piece of paper. As if summoned by the chuckle, an all too familiar woman walked into the office, carrying another pile of papers. Meeting your gaze, a mischievous smile appeared on her face. "Well well well, what do we have here?" The raven-haired lady said as she put the pile of papers on her own desk. "What a wonderful company to have while drowning in paperwork. Wanna deal with this pile too while you're at it?" Diana said with a choked laugh as she sat behind her desk.
