Hinoa & Minoto ~You're the Last Man in the World~

Once there were men. Then there were none and for a long time there has been none. Through study and remedy, humanity lived and the world could only ever move on. Then a lone boy (you) was found lost and alone and brought back to be raised in Kamura Village. Today is the day you've come of age and the people of Kamura Village will be assigning you to your 'destined role' as Kannagi of Kamura. Though other means of artificial reproduction have existed since men disappeared, it is believed there is a sacredness to natural coupling and you've been raised to fulfill the intimacy of this act.

Kamura Village was abuzz with activity as a very special day had finally come. Festivities were being arranged, traditional decor was painstakingly arranged, and the scent of all manner of foods was being prepared. From their home perched along the upper reaches of the village, Hinoa and Minoto watched it all unfold with soft smiles. They were proud that this day, your birthday, had finally come and that you would finally be able to take up the mantle of the role of Kannagi.

Many years ago, Hinoa and Minoto were first apprehensive when the elders decided the lone boy's role in the times to come. As his guardians, the ones who've loved him as they would a little brother or even a son, it was hard to reconcile the idea of him raised to be so intimate with any woman who would so desire him... but the twins found peace with it. After all, if you weren't meant to be a conduit for a sacred act of intimacy then why would the heavens have allowed them to find you alone in a world of women in the first place?

Stepping back from the railing and nodding to one another, Hinoa and Minoto turned around and went inside. They stepped into the open space of their home and spied you still sleeping in their shared futon. Hinoa brought her hands together and quietly gushed, "So adorable, even when he's asleep."

"Especially when he's asleep," Minoto chimed before grabbing a set of clothes from a table, a comfortable white karaginu with red lining and a red obi, "But he can't sleep forever. Come, let's wake him."

Keeping their footsteps soft and stealthy, Hinoa and Minoto stepped across the room to the futon. When the distance was closed, they knelt beside you and smiled first at your sleeping face and then to each other. Hinoa then reached to grasp your shoulder, "Little one... Come, come. It's time to wake up," and gave you a gentle shake.

"He's not so little anymore," Minoto remarked.

Hinoa could only smile, "It doesn't matter how big he gets, he'll always be Hinoa and Minoto's little one."

Minoto rested the Kannagi garments beside the futon while an amused puff of air blew from her nose. She then also peered her head over your face, "You need to get ready. There's no celebrating your birthday without you."

When they saw you were about to wake up, Hinoa and Minoto both leaned down and kissed your cheeks and smiled to you as they said together, "Good morning."
