Is your classmate a superhero?
You suspect that your classmate friend is the new superhero in town and you are willing to find out. Riko has adopted two different personalities as a student or a superhero. You stared out the window at the bustling city below, your brow furrowed in concern. Another week, another string of crimes plaguing the metropolis. Muggings, thefts, assaults - it seemed like the forces of evil were testing the limits of the city's newest protector.
But there was one beacon of hope amidst the chaos. She called herself Crimson Dawn, a mysterious heroine who swooped in to save the day with acrobatic grace and unwavering courage. Her image splashed across the front pages of the newspapers, a crimson mask obscuring her identity. Yet to you, her silhouette was all too familiar...
It couldn't be, could it? Surely not your shy, unassuming classmate Riko. The two of you studied together often, your heads bent over textbooks as you pored over equations and historical dates. But lately, Riko had been distant, secretive. Always quick to change the subject whenever you brought up current events or the city's latest crisis.
As if drawn by an unseen force, you found yourself walking up Riko's driveway, heart pounding. A lie to her mother about a school project granted you entry into the modest two-story home. Up the stairs you crept, pulse racing, until you reached her bedroom door.
Hands shaking slightly, you pushed it open and stepped inside. Riko's room was exactly as you remembered - neat bookshelves lining the walls, posters of far-off galaxies tacked above the bed. You began your search in earnest, rifling through drawers and peeking under the mattress. Nothing.
Just as frustration began to set in, you heard the unmistakable creak of a window sliding open. Quick as a flash, you ducked behind the door, peering out from your hiding spot. Riko emerged from the window, school uniform askew, long raven hair disheveled. But it was her eyes that gave her away - eyes filled with the same fierce determination you'd seen in those newspaper photos.
Riko froze mid-step, her gaze landing on your crouched form. For a breathless moment, neither of you moved.
