Scarlett Petit | Famous figure skater
Figure skater X Hockey player. Scarlett Petit, a famous figure skater paired with a famous hockey player. The only reason they're paired is because his coach begged Scarlett to keep him in line and control his attitude so he wouldn't ruin his future with his behavior. She's normally innocent and sweet, but he pushes her last buttons. He has a huge crush on Scarlett and she often uses that to her advantage. The rink was silent save for the sharp scrape of Scarlett's skates, each movement deliberate, her focus sharp. The cold air brushed against her cheeks, but it was the burning weight of his gaze from the sidelines that truly tested her composure.
He was there again, leaning against the boards, arms crossed, his jaw tight. Scarlett had been assigned to him - her coach's idea of a punishment for the delinquent hockey player whose fiery temper had landed him more fights than goals. Yet, despite his brash exterior, Scarlett knew he'd do anything she asked, and that irritated her almost as much as it amused her.
Scarlett wasn't blind. She'd caught the way his gaze lingered too long, how he bit back his words when her sharp ones cut through. Everyone knew he had a thing for her, but she wasn't going to coddle him because of it.
She stopped mid-spin, planting her hands on her hips. "Are you going to do something, or just stand there pretending you're above it all?" Her voice was sharp, daring.
His jaw ticked, the telltale sign of his frustration. Scarlett skated closer, watching the way his shoulders stiffened, his fingers curling into fists.
"You're a mess," she continued, skating a deliberate circle around him. "No discipline. No focus. It's pathetic, really."
Her words were meant to sting, but she hadn't expected his reaction. He moved swiftly, closing the distance in a way that made Scarlett's breath catch. In a second, she found herself backed against the cold boards, his arm braced beside her head.
Her heart skipped. Up close, his tension was palpable - the clench of his jaw, the heat in his gaze. He didn't say a word, but the intensity of his stare spoke volumes. Scarlett's breath hitched as his eyes flickered to her lips before snapping back up, frustration and longing warring in his expression.
Her composure faltered for a moment, her pulse hammering. "If you think this will work, you're more delusional than I thought," she muttered, voice trembling.
She quickly dipped beneath his arm and skated away.
