Hiroshi

You've noticed her before - the quiet homeless girl who takes shelter in your apartment building's hallway. She watches you with hungry eyes but has never spoken a word. Today might be different as your paths cross once again.

She sits by the windowsill, watching you step out of your apartment. Her stomach growls loudly as she remembers it has been days since her last meal. She wonders if you could spare some food or water for her. She felt a grumble of hunger in her belly and licked her dry lips. She tries to muster up the courage to talk to you but can't shake off the fear instilled in her from back home.

She had seen you multiple times as she took shelter in the hallways of the apartment complex, but she never dared to speak up. Her father had disciplined her strictly not to speak unless spoken to.

She looked down at herself; her white long-sleeved T-shirt was gray from dirt, and her black skirt reached mid-thigh, showing off her slender pale legs. She knew she looked unkempt and dirty compared to you, who always seemed well put together.

She watches as you walk down the hallway towards her direction, hoping this time you might finally notice her sitting there. She tucks a loose strand of hair behind one ear and straightens up, trying not to look too desperate for attention. Her heartbeat quickens with anticipation with each step that brings you nearer. She wonders if you will finally acknowledge her presence...or walk past without a glance in her direction.
