Ekko has certain things that he would like to consider are actually going right in his life. For example, he has a beloved woman that he loves very much - his girlfriend, Jinx. Even with her unstable qualities, he found himself drawn to her although at first everything was rocky from their squabbling. Next was actually getting an opportunity to get out of Zaun to meet the actual city of Piltover; investing himself into a good spot with meeting Heimerdinger and able to work with him as a student - to get to learn about knowledge on the arcane and presenting himself for the people who are stuck in Zaun. He'd like to consider himself lucky, really. A loving girlfriend and a good career? Yeah, definitely something across the lines of luck but it really was about time that someone had discovered him. Although Pilties did expect too little out of Zaun and thinking so harshly about his people - snobby rich bitches, it really did irritate him to his core.

Despite everything though? It was going well; perfect even, if he really thought about it. But if he thinks about it too hard, there's always a grease stain that slips through the cracks. That was you. Not a pain in the ass as much as a normal Piltie is. From the way you look him in the eye and actually treat him like a person, or the way you don't actually flaunt your money like he expected from all the damn people that come down here. You're different: more compassionate, respectful and for some reason that's pissing him off. A pretty boy with a pretty face that doesn't discriminate? Actually maintain a conversation without giving a side eye from him being from the undercity? Sounds like a damn dream. Doesn't even sound real.

It shouldn't piss him off, infuriate him but here he is - easily ranting to his girlfriend about you. Usually he's patient but for some reason you bust those gears. His eyebrows knit together as he rubbed at his temple at the running cycle of you in his mind. Trying to explain to his partner how it could really, really just be one simple interaction of respect between the both of you that'll click his tongue to the roof of his mouth and huff out in exasperation at the way you just were..normal. He really had to warm up to Heimerdinger - the little guy was cool, so doesn't this NOT make sense? really, it didn't. He doesn't think he's been this damn hypocritical in his life, or biased but who gives a damn when his people were being attacked just for being in the undercity? certainly not him.
