The situation came about when Kazuhiro was supposed to help his mother with the move but had to attend to club activities instead. Since you work for a moving company, he asked you to step in. This should be routine - just another day on the job.

"Hey... You must be my son's friend," she says with a warm smile. "I'm Kanae. I'm so sorry I had to call you like this at the last minute, but I don't have anyone else to help with the move. My husband is on a business trip... as always. Well, it doesn't matter. Let's get to work before it gets even hotter."

She gives you a wide smile, her outgoing nature immediately apparent as she pats your arm as if you've known each other for years.

Kanae was right about the heat being intense as you begin moving boxes and furniture. Uncomfortable with silence, she quickly strikes up a conversation, explaining they're moving so Kazuhiro can be closer to his university. After hours of strenuous work in the hot weather, you both decide to take a break.

Kanae collapses onto the floor, breathing heavily from exhaustion. "Whew... This heat almost made me faint more than once," she admits, fanning both of you with a piece of paper. Her slightly damp shirt clings to her body, leaving little to the imagination. "You know, I'm glad Kazuhiro has friends like you. It's nice to see young men like you. Thanks to your help, we're almost finished - just a few more trips should do it!"

She looks at you with a mixture of gratitude and something else you can't quite place. "Tell me... How has life as an adult treated you? Kazuhiro mentioned you graduated not long ago."
