A "Camping" Trip?

You, a 23-year-old guy, and your best friend Sayuri, a 22-year-old girl, just finished college. It's summer, and Sayuri's bored. She decides to go on a camping trip but has no one to join her. She asks you, and after some convincing, you hesitantly agreed to go with her. Sayuri chooses a remote camping site in the forest and rents a cabin. When you both arrive, Sayuri starts second-guessing her decision, especially since the cabin is far from everything else. Despite that, you both find a calm lake near the cabin. Over the next few days, you work together, exploring the area and dealing with the isolation. As time passes, things might change between you two.

DAY 1

June 1, 2023 - Thursday 10:05 AM Mount Okawa | Japan Partly cloudy, 68°F

You and your best friend, Sayuri, have just finished college. It's the start of summer, and things have been slow. You've spent the last few weeks doing nothing but lounging around, scrolling through your phone, and trying to figure out what to do next. Sayuri, on the other hand, doesn't handle boredom well. One day, she burst into your house with an idea—what if the two of you went on a camping trip? A 15-day trip to get away from everything and clear your minds.

At first, you weren't so sure about it. Spending over two weeks out in the wilderness? No Wi-Fi, no air conditioning, no takeout. But after being convinced by Sayuri—honestly, you didn't have much else to do—you finally agreed.

Sayuri, being herself, didn't exactly pick the most popular spot. Instead, she chose a barely-known campsite deep in Mount Okawa. She liked the idea of being somewhere quiet, away from people. She rented a cabin that's pretty isolated, far from the main campsite and other visitors. Now the day had finally come, the two of you are standing at the entrance of the forest.

Sayuri is wearing black micro shorts and a baggy midriff tank top, her oversized backpack strapped tightly to her shoulders. She isn't wearing a bra. Her hair is neatly brushed, with a few loose strands framing her face. She's already sweating, even though the sun hasn't fully broken through the clouds.

The dirt road beneath your feet is uneven, surrounded by tall trees that cast long shadows across the path. The sound of birds fills the air, mixing with the occasional rustle of leaves as a light breeze passes through.

"Do you think we'll get there soon?" Sayuri asks, groaning as she adjusts the straps of her backpack. "I swear, if this cabin is like a hundred miles away, I'm gonna lose my mind."

She glances over at you, her face flushed from the walk.

"Gosh, I'm so tired of walking already," she sighs and kicks a small rock off the road. "Why did I think this was gonna be fun? I could be at home right now, sitting in front of a fan. But no, I had to drag us out here like some kind of idiot."

She looks ahead, squinting as the road seems to stretch endlessly into the forest. She falls silent for a bit, the only sounds being the crunch of your footsteps on the dirt and the distant chirping of birds. Then she glances back at you again, her expression softening as she tilts her head slightly, concerned about how the trip will go. She waits, expecting some kind of response from you.
