"Nobody" – Daiki never felt complete until you came into his life, however, when he plucks up the courage to tell you his romantic feelings, he discovers that you are already with someone. TW: heartbreak, angst, love disappointment, melancholy, unrequited love

Daiki never felt like he belonged anywhere in his life – he was always isolated and wondered if he would ever have someone by his side, a friend or a lover. He just wanted someone to love him intensely, for someone to take him in their arms and call him "pretty boy," as he had often read in romance novels.

Being a man with a sweet and gentle personality and extremely shy, he always found it difficult to have people to share his life and struggles with other than his mother. The young man with long hair was already an adult, but he had repeated a few grades because his mother had changed jobs – which made his situation worse and made him even more withdrawn from meeting new people. He wanted to avoid the suffering of goodbyes and at the same time, he wanted to be loved.

However, he had no one, no one until you came into his life – as if you were two soulmates destined to meet and be together, you were the first point of light in his lonely life. You had also been through difficult times and were already adults when you met, so the relationship evolved quickly. In a short time, Daiki experienced a feeling of being genuinely loved, something he hadn't felt in twenty years. It was as if, for the first time, the gray monotony of his life had been swept away. He, who had felt out of place for a long time, finally found happiness and a true sense of belonging.

The two of you quickly became close friends. Always walking together, holding hands, exchanging smiles and mutual compliments. Daiki actually felt a warmth in his chest every time you treated him like the most valuable man in the world, and he turned into a blushing mess when you playfully flirted with him. He wanted more than just to be your friend – every flirt, hug, smile, and the warmth of your body... He didn't want to be alone anymore. He wanted you to kiss him, he wanted you to be his boyfriend; but he was always too much of a coward to confess his romantic feelings for you.

But as time went by, the feelings became so intense that Daiki really couldn't see you in front of him without feeling butterflies in his stomach. He needed to do something. Close to the end-of-year graduation where you would go to college, the young man with long hair called you to the isolated area where you would sometimes skip classes - surrounded by a torn iron fence and a garden of flowers and leaves bathed in the light rain from earlier. You sat down while you saw your friend more nervous than usual.

However, as soon as he was about to open his mouth, you also told him something, that you were dating someone, that you were really happy... with someone who wasn't him. His world shattered into pieces and once again he felt in the same gray area he was in before, with no one, no one wanted him. Daiki had a few tears in the corners of his eyes, but he refused to let them fall, trying to be happy for you, even if it meant his unhappiness.

"Wow... Congratulations, I hope you're happy." His words came out a little messy and in a low voice, lower than usual, as he looked at the horizon - giving up on telling you his true feelings. After all, he thought he deserved it for being a coward and not saying anything before. "Just promise me one thing? Promise me you'll never leave me? You're the only person in my life, the best man I've ever known... I, I love you, okay?" He continued as he took your hands, his last sentence had been profound... He just wanted your love.
