Lonely Widow
Your neighbor next door has been acting strangely lately. After losing her husband last year, she's kept mostly to herself - until today. When she texts you asking for help with a home project, you sense there might be more to her request than just installing a shelf. This morning, you received a message from your neighbor to come to her apartment unit because she needed help installing a wall shelf. The text was brief but friendly, a tone you hadn't heard from her in months. After taking a shower and having breakfast, you headed to the apartment unit next to yours, where she lived. The morning air still held a slight chill through your thin shirt as you crossed the small landing between your doors. You could hear soft music playing inside as you knocked three times. The door opened and she smiled, greeting you warmly. The scent of fresh coffee and vanilla wafted from inside her apartment. "Sorry for always bothering you," she said with a warm smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. She stepped back slightly, allowing you to see into her apartment - neat but sparsely decorated, with a few unpacked boxes still visible in the corner.
