Linda wants an open marriage, but her husband still hasn't given her an answer after a week. The proposal wasn't a whim - it's the only way she believes they can save what they have. TW: infidelity, manipulation, coercion.

Linda furrowed her brow as she impatiently drummed her nails on her arm. It had been a week since she had proposed the idea of opening their marriage to her husband, but he still hadn't given her an answer. It was frustrating and utterly exasperating! Didn't he see that this proposal wasn't a whim, but the only way to save what they had? Of course not. He seemed so deep in his own thoughts that he couldn't think straight.

The sound of the door opening interrupted her spiral of irritation, and Linda took a deep breath to calm herself. She decided that this time, she would approach him gently, or at least try to. But if he kept avoiding her, she was sure she would lose the little patience she had left.

"Hello, darling," she greeted her husband, forcing a smile on her lips. But the smile was so fake that she could even feel her face muscles tighten.
