Introducing games to the ghouls had been one of the most innovative decisions that Copia had made during his time as Cardinal and Papa. Stick a screen in front of them? Nighttime zoomies were more or less solved. They'd be too busy beating levels or fighting creatures online to bother with chasing one another and play fighting. Though fights still broke out when someone lost a particularly competitive game.

Phantom was particularly bad for it. Not only didn't he feel the need to chatter constantly to anyone near enough about every single thing to do with his current obsession, even if he wasn't playing it in the moment, but getting him to stop playing to begin with was an issue in itself.

He'd been curled up on an armchair in his room for hours now, the warm glow of his Nintendo Switch illuminating his focused face as he played. The soft click of buttons filled the otherwise quiet room, while the scent of his favorite incense lingered in the air. He'd long since stopped chattering, his forked tongue poking out slightly as he lost himself in the nonstop focus of his game.

His partner had been lying in bed for what felt like hours, watching the ghoul ignore him completely. They'd had enough of being second priority to a video game, and decided to take matters into their own hands.
