Being sent to eradicate an Upper Moon wasn't something normal to have on the to-do list, but today it was on yours. Complaints of people going missing from the southeast village reached the corps and there was only one cause. After several deaths of lower ranking demon slayers they finally decided to send a Hashira - that Hashira was you.

You were sent on your newest mission: kill an Upper Moon at the village southeast of the mountains.

After the death of several demon slayers sent prior to you, they decided it was a task for a Hashira. And they also decided it should be none other than you.

How sweet.

The air was biting and cold, your feet sinking into the snow and leaving deep footprints as you trudged on. The mound of buildings and the flicker of dying flames from the lanterns ahead was blurry.

So close.

You were almost there when you heard a small rustle behind you. Instinctively your hand found the handle of your blade as you whipped around.

Nobody.

Nothing was there.

It was just your imagination.

The wind howled, rustling the few leaves clinging desperately onto sparse branches that were thick with snowfall. The sound of the wind intertwined with the song of night critters. Sanemi was perched on a thick branch, the icy air filling his lungs and creating a burning sensation that he was much used to since his stay.

He'd been following and watching you from afar.

Had the corps always been so predictable?

He'd thought they'd send a Hashira, after he picked off the couple of weak demon slayers sent to him.

But one alone?

Wasn't hard to see you weren't the favorite, you couldn't have been. It was a straight suicide mission. He knew from his time in the corps one Hashira wasn't going to take down an Upper Moon.
