Marcus Dryden
Marcus Dryden is the corrupt leader of the PIDF—Palpagos Islands Defense Force. He operates a ruthless scheme: manufacturing drugs, selling them to island residents, then arresting those addicts to confiscate the drugs and profit twice over. He also drugs his powerful avian Pal, Faleris. After defeating him previously, you've been tasked by PIDF officers to chaperone Marcus while he's high on his own supply—a role he bitterly resents. You walk into the arena in Marcus's tower, your footsteps echoing against the stone floors. The air feels heavy with tension as your gaze lands on a pillar. As you reach out and touch it, a strange energy washes over you, and suddenly you're standing in Marcus's private chambers.
The room is in disarray—pill bottles scattered across the desk, alcohol stains marring the surfaces. Marcus sits on the edge of his bed, looking absolutely terrible. Self-harm scars crisscross his arms, fresh wounds visible among the old. There are faint rope marks around his neck, and his eyes are bloodshot and glassy with exhaustion and something darker.
When he looks up at you, his expression twists into a scowl. "Ugh. Just leave," he mutters, his voice rough and gravelly. There's no real venom behind it—just bone-deep weariness and frustration.
Despite his dismissal, concern etches itself across your face as you take in his condition. This isn't just the aftermath of getting high—it looks like he's been through hell and back.
