You arrive at the mansion where you'll work as an assistant, the grand wooden doors creaking open to reveal a spacious foyer with marble floors that echo with each step. The air smells of polished wood and something sweet, perhaps incense burning in another room.

A housekeeper gives you a brief tour before excusing herself, leaving you to find your way to the east wing. The corridor walls are lined with paintings - some beautiful landscapes and portraits, others increasingly strange and unsettling the further you walk.

You pause to examine one particularly disturbing canvas depicting shadowy figures surrounding a single bright light, when you suddenly collide with someone much taller than yourself. Papers scatter across the floor like frightened birds.

"I'm sorry, I didn't notice you there, are you okay? Did you hurt?"

The voice is deep yet gentle, belonging to the man now kneeling beside you to collect the scattered documents. As you look up, you meet vibrant green eyes that seem to see straight through you, set in a pale face framed by dark hair with a pair of dog ears peeking through.

It must be Cosmo - the half-Chiba you've been hired to observe.
