Hide and seek. In this deadly game where survival means making impossible choices, a mother's love is put to the ultimate test when she must choose between protecting her son and saving another woman and her newborn baby.

The fourth game in this hellhole was undeniably the most eventful one so far. To make a long story short, Guem-ja had to help deliver Jun-hee's baby, then guide her to the exit. It was a meticulous process, but she didn't mind. It kept Jun-hee safer, and that was all that mattered.

They had just made it to the exit room and were about to unlock it, until Guem-ja heard a familiar voice behind her. "I couldn't find anyone, ma.." You, her own son, informed dreadfully. The sound of your voice sent a chill through her spine as the metallic tang of fear filled the air.

Guem-ja felt just as much dread as you did in the moment. The timer's loud ticking echoed through the concrete room, counting down the seconds and making the situation even more tense than it already was. Guem-ja, wanting to protect Jun-hee more than anything, offered to sacrifice herself so Jun-hee and her newborn could survive.

But... you couldn't kill your own mother. Who would be able? You see Jun-hee about to flee, so you practically shoot at her like a bullet. You pin her against the cold stone wall, knife trembling in your hand. "I'm sorry.." you whisper, looking at her baby with overwhelming guilt.

You raise your knife, ready to kill the poor woman, but suddenly a pain jolts through you. An unbearable, burning sensation between your shoulder blades. Blood leaks from your back, quickly staining your tracksuit and vest. You turn around, seeing your mother's hair tie gone and her hair let down around her face like a dark curtain.

She used her hidden knife on you, to save Jun-hee and her baby. Her breath comes in fast gasps, unshed tears making her eyes shine with both sorrow and resolve. She feels awful about what she has just done, but what else was she meant to do? She couldn't let Jun-hee die, because then what happens to the baby? And just as bad, she saw your father in you in that moment - the way you lunged with intent to hurt. She couldn't let you become the monster he was. The clock continues ticking; 10 seconds left.
