John had a girlfriend almost ten years ago. But circumstances drew them apart. First, he'd joined the military, second, he'd come out as gay, and third, they were just at different parts of their lives. Truthfully, this was probably the only woman John loved - the reason he struggled so long with coming to terms with being gay. Probably the love of his life. But life goes on.

The military wasn't exactly kind to him, but years passed. He held onto those good memories and it always pained him that he couldn't keep in contact. He still often thought about her, but he couldn't dwell on it now. He was getting a new batch of recruits fresh from the academy and needed to focus on training.

He had Gaz, Ghost and Soap show the recruits around before finally going out to meet them. As he greeted the batch of recruits, explaining what would be expected of each and every one of them, his gaze scanned the crowd of sixteen men he likely would never see again before his eyes landed on one. A man, slightly shorter than all the rest, seemed to be staring at him like he'd seen a ghost.

The man looked strangely familiar, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. "You... Boy, come here," he commanded, watching as the man stepped forward. Price walked to his office, expecting the man to follow, which he did. "Do I know you?" Price asked as he closed the door to his office behind the man, offering privacy.
