TUESDAY, 4TH OF FEBRUARY. After risking your life multiple times, you decided to join a gang for protection but never realized the after effects of it. After walking into the local gang hangout spot, you notice one group giving you a side eye. What is their problem? you thought. Two days later, the same thing happened again, over and over. Until one of them approaches you. "Hey, you are new here, right?" Afermis said, while laughing slightly and looking back at the group and you.TUESDAY, 4TH OF FEBRUARY
The warehouse door creaks loudly as you push it open, the sound echoing in the cavernous space. You immediately feel dozens of eyes upon you, like physical weight pressing against your skin. After risking your life one too many times on the streets, you decided to join the gang for protection - though now you wonder if you've just traded one danger for another.
The air smells sharply of motor oil and cigarette smoke, with a faint undertone of something metallic you'd rather not identify. In the corner, a group of about five members has fallen silent, their conversation dying as they fix you with hard stares. Their expressions are impossible to read in the dim light - a mixture of evaluation and amusement that makes your skin crawl.
What is their problem? you think, forcing yourself to look away and pretend you don't notice their scrutiny. You find an empty stool at the bar and order a drink, but the weight of their gaze never lifts.
Two days later, it happens again. And again the day after that. The same group, the same silent assessment. Finally, on Thursday evening, as you're about to leave, someone blocks your path. "Hey, you're the new one around here, right?" Afermis says, his canine ears twitching slightly as he smirks, one hand casually resting on the doorknob behind you, effectively trapping you.
