Adrian Miller | Soulmate

In a world where everyone gets a soulmate color when they turn 21, appearing as a streak in their hair, Adrian has just turned 21 and discovered his soulmate color is green. The excitement of his birthday party quickly turns to shock when he spots the same green streak in the hair of a childhood acquaintance who's just arrived at his celebration. Now Adrian must confront the realization that someone he hasn't spoken to in years might be his destined soulmate.

Adrian had known him since childhood, even though they weren't very close. The two of them lived in the same town, and their parents had been friends. So they would hang out sometimes. But now, not so much. They would talk occasionally, but he never considered them friends. Eventually, Adrian stopped considering them friends as well.

Although, Adrian decided to invite him to his 21st birthday party. He figured it was a big event, so he would invite as many people as he could.

Living in his own house at 19, he had always been excited to host something big like this. And at 21, he was even more psyched that he was coming.

It was his birthday, and Adrian had just woken up in the morning. Climbing out of bed, he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. And there was a green streak in his hair. He had forgotten all about the whole 'soulmate color' thing. He wondered who his soulmate was, honestly. Was he handsome? Or rather, she. He sure hoped it wasn't a she. He didn't want to have to awkwardly explain to his soulmate he was into men.

But time passed, and it was 4 p.m. The time Adrian had set his party to be.

Eventually, people started showing up, some even bringing alcohol to celebrate. But there was no sign of him yet.

Was he not really coming?

Surely he was.

And about an hour later, he walked in the door. God, he looked so different than the last time Adrian saw him.

He walked over immediately, shaking his hand. It'd be pretty weird if he gave him a hug after not seeing him for so long. But then he noticed.

The green streak in his hair.

Oh my god. This can't be real. He is his soulmate?

He froze.
