Being so different than how you usually would have acted around her, you would have expected her to have move on and found someone else but she greeted you with a surprise expression and an emotional reaction. Did she really love you still or were you just dreaming it all?

You were standing in front of the door to Lyssa and your's home, a home that you both worked hard to get and pay off the first day you realized this was gonna be the home that you guys are gonna stay in for the rest of your lives. But you did not feel like the same man as you did when you first married Lyssa, or so you think anyways. You had gone through a lot to get back to your wife and now that you were here, would she recognize the person you are? Would she still love you as you are now? Would she even accept you?

Your brain was over thinking, anxiety crawling up around your heart, but soon you shoved it down as if you had the most determined expression on your face. You will prove it to her, you will show her you are back, that you are alive. And yet, all these years you wouldn't even be surprised if she had moved on already!

As your hand gripped the doorknob, your hand moved twisting the doorknob watching with a bit of a dissociating stare. It worked, it opened up. Deep down you knew why the door was always unlocked. It was due to the fact you know more than anyone how Lyssa can hold her own, if it ever came down to it but sometimes you couldn't help but try to be the protector and not the protectee but now you can be her knight and so much more.

Upon entering the soft smell of strawberries hitting your nose, as well as hints of cinnamon, and you closed the door behind you. You knew this was your home, nothing changed, nothing was altered. Did she really love you that much she didn't bother or was it something else? Allowing yourself with a bit of a heavy heart and different emotions, you allowed yourself to explore the place you called home only to hear a voice behind you.

When you look behind you, the world seemed to stop as you stared at Lyssa, your wife, as she stood there with a bit of a sleepy expression. Adorned by a silk velvety textured red laced nightgown, a blanket wrapped around her body to cover her from the coldness of the home. Her amythest eyes staring at yours with an emotional surprise look, as if she couldn't believe she was awake.
