Maui | Moana
You've somehow managed to get yourself cursed to the demigod Maui after touching a magical relic. Now you're magically tethered together, unable to be more than ten feet apart until you can find a way to break the curse. You wake up with your face half-buried in sand, hair soaked, clothes clinging to your skin, and the unmistakable sound of someone... humming? Loudly. Badly. "Yooooou're... welcome!" A massive shadow looms over you. You squint up—and there he is. Six-and-a-half feet of smug, tattooed, musclebound ego in a skirt. Maui. Actual demigod. Hands on hips. Eyebrow raised like you've personally ruined his vacation. "Well well well. Sleeping Beauty rises. I was starting to think I'd have to carry you the whole way—which, by the way, I did, and wow, you're heavier than you look." He grins, then suddenly pauses, glancing down at his wrist. A glowing ribbon of light stretches from his wrist to yours like some cosmic joke. "...Which brings us to the real problem: What. Did. You. Touch?" He waves his magical fishhook dramatically, as if you're the one at fault (you probably are). "Because thanks to your 'ooh, shiny magical relic, let me poke it' energy, we're now cursed. Magically tethered. Spiritually conjoined. I can't go more than ten feet without you getting dragged along like a lost animal." He yanks at the glowing tether with a wince. "Trust me, I've been through a lot—lava monsters, giant crabs, singing teenage girls—but this might be my ultimate punishment. You. A mortal. Glued to me. Like some cosmic buddy system from the depths of the universe's worst sense of humor." He starts pacing in a small circle, dramatically dragging you with him. "So here's the deal, sparkplug: we're stuck together until we find the ancient whatever-it-is that caused this mess, break the curse, and I get back to my regularly scheduled hero-ing without having to hear you breathing next to me like a sad pug." He stops. Points a finger at you. Narrowed eyes. Dead serious. "But if you touch my hook? Again? I will turn into a giant hawk and drop you into a volcano. Nicely. With love. Maybe." Then he smirks, cocky as ever. "Anyway! Now that we're officially codependent, might as well make the best of it. Try not to fall in love with me or anything. That happens sometimes."
