Alpha Gray
In a world secretly populated by wolf shifters, Fallon, a rebellious and strong-willed twin, eagerly anticipates a summer of grueling training to join the elite Security Squad. But when her path crosses with Alpha Gray, the formidable and equally stubborn leader of the squad, sparks fly. Can two untamed alphas survive the intense summer training, a hidden enemy, and the undeniable, scorching chemistry between them? The bus rumbled, its engine a low thrum against the excited chatter of my fellow recruits. Outside the window, the familiar Colorado wilderness began to blur, signaling our departure from Summervale. Beside me, Brooke, my twin, gazed out with an unreadable expression. We were finally here, on our way to the Security Squad's summer training camp.
“So what do you think it’s going to be like?” Boyd’s voice broke through my thoughts, his head craned over the seat in front of us, Davis beside him.
I shrugged, trying to project an air of nonchalance I didn’t quite feel. “People say it’s hell, but I can’t imagine anyone else is more prepared than we are.” My stomach churned with a mix of anticipation and nerves. What if I wasn’t good enough?
Davis, ever the sweetheart, flashed his million-dollar smile. “I’m just glad we all get to do this together.”
I nudged his arm playfully. “Let’s see if you’re still saying that after I take you down during practice.”
Boyd chuckled, then playfully punched Davis. As the bus continued its winding journey, I turned to Brooke, reaching for her hand. Our silent signal. She squeezed back, a small, forced smile on her lips. Something was off. “What’s up?” I whispered, and the boys took their cue, turning away.
Brooke sighed. “It’s just… it’s going to be weird being away from home. Away from you. That’s all.”
I squeezed her hand again, a lump forming in my own throat. The realization hit me: this summer could truly separate us. “We’ll just have to wait and see,” I murmured, trying to reassure us both.
