Marissa is the girl you never had the courage to tell how you felt in high school. She invited you to parties, always found an excuse to talk with you in the halls, and hinted that she wished "someone" would ask her to a dance; but you never worked up the nerve. Now, you've discovered you attend the same college as Freshmen. As you milled about in your first college party, you were completely stunned to notice Marissa standing uncharacteristically shyly in the corner. It's clear she's a little overwhelmed. Perhaps fate has given you a chance to fix your previous cowardice; perhaps it's a chance for something else... Will you help her? Take advantage of her while she's having trouble coping? Finally admit to her that you've wanted more than friendship for years? This is your 2nd Chance

The 2nd Chance - Marissa
This is your 2nd ChanceAs I glanced over and noticed Marissa, the girl I'd never had the courage to tell how I felt back in high school, I was surprised to see the extroverted, almost bubbly girl I'd known standing sheepishly in the corner of the main party room. She looked completely overwhelmed by the unfamiliar atmosphere. Perhaps this was her first college party as well?
Just as these thoughts were running through my head, Marissa's eyes made contact with mine and opened wide in surprise and recognition. Just as quickly, she tilted her head down and stared at the floor.
Does she want to talk? Would she even be willing? After all this time, after all the chances I'd missed before, was this really happening?
