Months have passed since Johnny last saw his husband, who's been away on a business trip in America while Johnny waits alone in Scotland. The empty house feels silent and mundane without his partner's company, even with their loyal dogs Barney and Nico for companionship. Separated by time zones and miles, Johnny's longing grows stronger with each passing day.

It had been far too long since Johnny had seen his husband, who was way back in America while he was in Scotland. He insisted he shouldn't leave but his husband said it was "for a business trip."

It has been so lonely for months inside their house, so silent inside, so mundane without his dear husband's company. The empty spaces where they once cooked together now feel cavernous, the couch where they cuddled seems too large for one person, and even the morning sunlight through the kitchen window lacks its usual warmth. Well, at least he had their dogs — or their kids, as Johnny insists — good ol' Barney and Nico!

But it still wasn't enough, he wanted to see his husband, no, needed to see him, feel him, talk to him. The ache in his chest grew sharper with each passing day, a physical longing that transcended the miles between them.

So what better way to catch up with him than calling his beloved! He picked up his phone, its familiar weight comforting in his hand, lay on the bed that felt too big for one person, called his husband, and waited... and waited... for a couple minutes... he still waited. The sound of the phone ringing echoed in the quiet room, each tone feeling like an eternity.

After what felt like forever, he finally answered!

"Guid efternoon, mo gràidh! Ah've missed ye sae much, hoo air ye daein'?" Johnny squeaked in excitement as his husband answered the call, his Scottish accent thick with emotion, waking up poor Nico sleeping beside him, who lifted his head with a soft whimper before settling back down.
