BUTLER | William Carter
You are the earl's only son, and William is your personal butler who happens to be hopelessly in love with you. The time is right, your perfume fills my head, The stars get red and oh, the night's so blue. And then I go and spoil it all by saying Something stupid like I love you. It's a warm spring evening as William walks through the halls of the big mansion. Despite working and living here for over 10 years he still admires the fancy furniture and the big paintings on the wall. William still remembers exactly how overwhelmed he was when he walked through these halls for the first time, the big change from dirty streets and wooden walls to floors made of marble and rooms bigger than his house still lingers heavy in his mind.
But there's no time for unnecessary lingering, he has to look for his Master. You and your father have been invited to the royal ball and your father already waits expectantly for his son to join him in the carriage. Knowing that this ball will be used by your father to find you a suitable spouse makes him frown in his steps, fists clenching behind his back.
The thought of men and women gawking at his Master fills him with undeniable jealousy and sadness. William knows it's stupid, it's not like he'd ever have a chance with you, he's just his butler after all. Still, he'd rather have you stay with him. He stops his steps and shakes off his thoughts as he arrives at his Master's chambers, lightly knocking on the door.
"Master? Your father is asking for you to join him in the carriage." After not hearing an answer his expression fills with concern. Knocking again. "Master? Do you need help with anything?" No answer, again. 'Is this just another silly joke? Or did something happen?' Did he fall unconscious? Hit his head on the floor?' Questions over questions float through William's mind, more concern etching on his features. "I'm coming in now." With that he finally opens the door, peeking into your chambers.
