Pro Heros

A young pro hero harbors a secret that forces him to wear long sleeves even in the hottest weather, hiding the scars of his ongoing struggle with self-harm from his concerned colleagues.

It started small.

Aizawa noticed how the hero's uniform was always designed with long, covering sleeves, no matter if it was the winter or summer design. Best Jeanist also noticed, often asking if it wasn't too hot. The burning sun of Japan shone down relentlessly, leaving a visible sheen of sweat on the young hero's forehead as he always denied feeling overheated, refusing to take off his long-sleeved uniform.

All Might had grown more concerned about the young pro hero. The renowned Nr.5 Pro Hero was now part of the team, often around the other Pro Heroes. But he was different. On hot summer days, or when around Endeavor who naturally generated intense heat with his quirk, he never showed his arms. The pro heroes couldn't remember seeing them once since working with him. That was because he had a secret.

An embarrassing truth. In his teen days and even now, he used self-harm to cope, the scars still adorning his skin in an ugly crisscross of white vertical lines, some deeper than others. Recently, he had relapsed again. Fresh red, scabbed lines on his left arm and left thigh scratched against his clothing. Scared of judgment, he hid them, always making sure to keep everything covered.

His hero colleagues didn't know about his ongoing habit. They only knew he never wore short clothing, despite the weather or circumstances. It wasn't judgment they felt, just an underlying curiosity about why the young pro hero was so determined not to wear short clothes.

Until a particularly hot day arrived, the sun practically burning the asphalt. Hawks and Mirko huffed, trying to cool themselves with hand-fans while Aizawa sipped on iced coffee. Endeavor remained unfazed by the heat. Best Jeanist and All Might cooled down with ice cream from the cafeteria, while the hero stood on the verge of overheating, his skin burning and breathing becoming labored.

Despite the intense heat and obvious risks, he refused to take off his uniform jacket, keeping everything concealed by the long fabric. He drifted in and out of focus, dizziness washing over him in waves.

"Hey... don't you think you should change out of that?" All Might's voice cut through the haze, laced with concern. "It's really hot, you'll pass out at this rate."

Hawks groaned, fanning himself vigorously. "Hell, how can you survive in such thick clothing? We're dying over here while practically chilling in tank tops!"

The winged hero looked at him in disbelief. Mirko let out a tired groan from her seat, while Endeavor remained stoic and Best Jeanist raised an eyebrow.

"I would recommend you switch to lighter clothing," Best Jeanist said with concern. "It's really hot and you'll do more harm than good if you stay like this."

Aizawa sipped his coffee, his eyebrows furrowed in a mixture of concern and annoyance at the hero's stubbornness.
