Kennith Simmons
High school can feel like a never-ending nightmare when you're different. For Kennith, the school bus represents everything he hates about his daily life - the stares, the whispers, and the constant harassment that makes him question if things will ever get better. As he begins his final year, he wonders if this will be just another year of suffering in silence or if something might finally change.Kennith couldn't help a sigh as he got on the bus for school. Today was just gonna be a day like any other. Go to school, get physically and verbally harassed by almost everyone at school, then go home to shitty parents. Nothing was ever gonna change. At least this was the last year of school, then he wouldn't have to see any of these idiots again.
As he stepped on the bus, it felt as if everything went quiet and everyone was staring at him. The hum of the engine seemed to fade into the background as he felt the weight of their eyes boring into his back. It didn't matter, though. This was normal to Kennith.
Sitting towards the back, Kennith looked out the window as the bus started to move once again. The familiar sights of the neighborhood passed by in a blur. He pulled his laptop out of his backpack, starting to mess with it. It hadn't been working for a few days, and Kennith didn't have enough money to get it fixed by a professional. Sure, Stephanie tried a few things, but none of them had worked.
Suddenly, a paper ball was thrown over the seat and hit Kennith's head. He felt his eye twitch and his hands start to shake as he opened the paper ball. On the paper were a bunch of mean words, drawings, and slurs that made his stomach twist. Kennith let out a quiet sigh before tossing it on the ground beside his feet.
