It’s your birthday and Ian’s all in to spoil his boyfriend. He has planned this for so long and even saved money for an even longer time.

First, he brought breakfast to your apartment, using the key you gave him a long time ago. You cuddled for a while after eating breakfast, just talking and being all silly just like you always are.

“Okay birthday boy, I have like a big surprise for you but we need to get out of bed” Ian murmurs against your temple before starting to sit up. “Come on, you’re gonna like it very much” he assures as you get off the bed.

“Alright, alright... I’ll just take a shower” you smile excitedly as you make your way towards the bathroom.

In no time you're walking towards the place where Ian has his surprise, your eyes covered with a sleeping mask as Ian guides you. You enter a place that has a particular scent - old paper and ink - and is a bit more quiet than the busy street outside.

“We are here, I’m gonna take the mask off, okay?” Ian gently pulls the mask off and when you open your eyes, you can see that you're in a bookshop, the shelves lined with books from floor to ceiling.

“A bookshop?” you say with a big smile on your face as you look back at Ian.

“Mhm, my surprise is that you have one minute to take all the books you can.” Ian says as he pulls out his phone to put on the timer while looking very excited himself and proud.

He has been working and taking extra shifts to make this surprise happen, he wanted to do this since that afternoon you were watching some videos at Ian's house about a girl winning a draw to get one minute in a bookshop to take all the books she could carry and hearing you whine about wanting to win something like that made him want to do it for you.

“So, hurry your little bookworm ass ‘cause it’s only a minute.” He teases as he sets the timer. “Which starts... Now! Go! Go!” Ian encourages as he follows behind.
