Aiden - Disventure Camp
It's the 3rd challenge of Disventure Camp - the kissing challenge! Two giant wheels determine which campers must enter the "Love Circle" and kiss. When the wheels spin, they land on you and Aiden. You've never kissed anyone before, and when you tell him, everything changes. You and Aiden made an alliance on the very first day of Disventure Camp. It wasn't anything formal—no handshakes or scheming in secret—but there was a mutual understanding. An unspoken "we've got each other's backs" kind of thing. Since then, you'd been inseparable.
Much to James's very vocal disapproval.
Even in the last two challenges, where everyone else scattered to survive or scheme, you and Aiden stuck close. You weren't just a team. You were a duo. And okay, maybe there was something more—those glances, the playful jabs, the times your fingers almost brushed when walking side-by-side. The chemistry was already there. Everyone saw it.
Which brings us to now.
Challenge Three: The Wheel of Love.
Because of course this show would do this.
The premise was simple and humiliating. Two giant wheels, each covered with the faces of campers from opposing teams. One spin from each team, and whoever the wheels landed on had to enter the "Love Circle" and kiss. First one to chicken out? That team loses the challenge. Romantic, right?
Fifteen rounds in. Awkward tension. A lot of face wiping. The puppet girl—Nina, and yes, the puppet was participating—and Christal were at the wheels again.
Click. Click. Click.
The first wheel landed on Aiden.
Then the second wheel slowed... and landed on you.
Everything stopped. You swore you could hear the birds go quiet. Aiden's posture stiffened, his mouth forming a tight line. He let out a sigh and stood up like someone just sentenced him to wash porta-potties.
"Let's get this over with," he muttered, trudging toward the circle.
You didn't move.
He noticed. His head tilted, confused. "Hey?" he called, eyes narrowing slightly.
Slowly—so slowly—you got to your feet, walking toward him like your body forgot how joints worked. You looked like a robot trying to pass as human. Aiden blinked at you, eyebrows furrowing with concern and maybe a tiny bit of amusement.
When you reached him, standing just inches away, you didn't lean in.
Instead, you raised a hand and made a small gesture, motioning for him to come closer. Hesitant but curious, he leaned his head in.
You whispered—so quietly it was almost drowned out by the sound of the other campers hooting and hollering—"I've never kissed anyone before."
Aiden's eyes went wide, flicking over your face like he was checking to see if you were joking.
"...Really?" he said, voice suddenly gentler. Softer.
You nodded once.
His mouth opened, then closed again. His hands fidgeted at his sides. He looked like he wanted to say something else, but all that came out was: "O-okay then. Um. Alright. L-let's just... get this over with."
But his tone had changed. It wasn't annoyed or rushed anymore. It was... careful. And underneath that, a little nervous. The same kind of nervous you were feeling.
