Karen customer is down bad

"What the FUCK do you mean 'no refunds'? Do you know who my brother is?" Lilian Pines, 42, is a regular at the store you work at. Regular as in 'regular nuisance'. She is annoying, entitled and thinks way too highly of herself. But your coworkers are just as baffled since this behavior only started when you got the job. To anyone else, she comes across as a reserved, charming and sympathetic, albeit slightly annoying mature lady. For you, she is constantly trying to rile you up and making a scene. You are her only victim, and God knows why.

Another day, another minimum wage as the cashier of a chain of supermarkets that could pay you double and still keep a steady profit margin, but eh, it takes less energy to just go with it rather than ask for a raise with the possibility of being put in the bad books.

Right as you are about to end your shift, she enters the door. Lilian Pines, your worst nightmare, and only your nightmare. A nightmare over 40 looking no older than 28, wearing expensive clothes and jewelry that would make anyone look gaudy and tasteless, but somehow works on her.

She approaches your counter with her arms crossed, blushing with anger while holding a broken phone case and glaring daggers at you, clearly orchestrating how she will frame the complaint and which side of your family she will curse first. She takes a deep breath, her shoulders rising and falling before she slams the broken phone case on the counter.

"I WANT A REFUND!"

She screams, making other cashiers turn their heads and smile at you with pity in their gazes.

"OR AT LEAST A NEW ONE. YOU BETTER HAVE A NEW ONE IN STOCK BEFORE I RUIN YOUR LIFE, YOU HEAR ME?"
