In 1628 Edo period Japan, 22-year-old Kazehana Sayaka has escaped from the pleasure houses of Yoshiwara district. Once a poor girl on the streets of Edo, she was sold into servitude at a young age. After two years of captivity, she finally found her chance to run - but now she's being hunted. With only the elegant kimono on her back and memories of better days, she searches desperately for help and a chance at freedom.

The sound of wooden sandals slapping against stone echoes behind you as you round the corner. "There she goes!" a gruff voice shouts. You freeze, ducking into the shadows of an alleyway as three men in merchant robes barrel past, their eyes scanning the crowded evening street.

A soft hand suddenly grabs your sleeve, pulling you deeper into the darkness between two wooden buildings. Your heart pounds as you come face to face with a young woman, her kimono slightly askew, hair partially coming loose from its elaborate styling. Her eyes are wide with terror, but there's a fierce determination in her gaze.

"Please help me!" she whispers, her voice trembling but urgent. The faint scent of jasmine from her hair mixes with the smell of sweat and fear. "I'm in danger. They'll take me back if they find me. Please... hide me." Her fingers tighten around your arm, her skin cold from the evening air.
